The Crew

These days, Bruno and Bowie are the two big dogs running the art studio. Or at least, that’s what they think. We let them believe it because it keeps them happy — and keeping dogs happy is one of our many skills. Snacks and naps also help. In between those very important naps and snack breaks, they work hard as our official models and studio supervisors. After all, who could resist a product approved by such adorable pups?

Oh, and there’s a new addition — Ava the cat. She’s small, but make no mistake — she’s the real boss. She keeps everyone (including the dogs) in line and runs a tight ship around here.

Crafts & Creations

Big Dog was started by two New Jersey animal lovers who wanted to share their passion for handcrafted, high-quality products made with care — and whenever possible, with local and organic materials. What began as a small hobby of creating gifts for friends and family has grown into a cozy creative studio filled with handmade treasures.

You’ll find a variety of our creations — from laser-cut wood pieces like signs, key holders, ornaments, and nightlights to custom stainless steel drinkware crafted in a wide range of styles. We love helping you bring your ideas to life, so if you have something special in mind, just reach out — we’re always happy to create custom pieces made just for you.

Laser Cutting & Engraving

Our laser studio is where the magic happens! Using precision laser technology, we cut and engrave a variety of materials to create unique and personal items such as coasters, bottle openers, signs, key holders, ornaments, leash holders, and nightlights. Each piece is carefully stained, painted, and assembled by hand, giving it that warm, handmade touch you can’t find anywhere else. We also offer custom laser engraving — perfect for personalized gifts, home décor, or branded items for your business.

Tumblers

Our custom drinkware is made from stainless steel, double-walled tumblers in a variety of shapes and sizes. The process is time-intensive — involving glitter, alcohol inks, mica powders, vinyl decals, and multiple coats of resin — but the results are worth it! Every tumbler is one-of-a-kind, designed and finished by hand. You can choose from our existing designs or work with us to create a completely custom cup that’s uniquely yours.

(Just a heads-up: each tumbler takes a couple of weeks to create and cure, since we make them to order with love and care.)

Candles

Our candles, which are not offered all the time, are made from natural soy wax, chosen because it burns cleanly and contains no paraffin wax — a petroleum-based byproduct commonly found in mass-produced candles. Paraffin releases toxins like benzene and toluene when burned, but soy wax keeps your air clean and your home cozy. Each candle is hand-poured with care, giving you a safe, beautiful burn every time.

A Little About Us

In our “other lives,” one of us comes from a dental background and the other from graphic design — an unusual combo, but somehow it works perfectly! Creativity and craftsmanship are what drive us, and we love bringing smiles (and wagging tails) to our customers.
